About This Project

--->check out the videos in the Gallery

The leadership team at SIBC first heard about the military base relocations to Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea in the early 2000s.  Since then we have been praying about planting a church in that region south of Seoul.  In 2010 a small team went down to Pyeongtaek to investigate the possibilities and to pray.  We came back encouraged but still not sure what to do. It would be 6 more years before the decision was made to go for it.  There were already 10,000 plus soldiers stationed at Camp Humphrey’s and a good sized expat community in the area consisting of English teachers, international schools teachers, and factory workers.

This is our 2nd year in Pyeongtaek.  It has been an exciting but challenging few years.  Along with the church plant, we also started a 2nd Mustard Seed Christian Preschool to minister to the young families in the area.  We held services in that preschool every Saturday night for just over a year.   In March of 2018 the landlord agreed to give us a discounted monthly rental fee on a 2nd floor space.  This was an exciting move as it now feels like we’re having services in a real church sanctuary!

The church planting team has learned a lot of things these past few years and one them is that we need a full time pastor to lead and be on the ground to minister to the soldiers, teachers, and factory workers in the area.

We want to invite you to help make this happen.  The current plan is to try to bring ta pastor over by the summer of 2019.  In order to do that, we will need to be able to cover some big expenses including: airfare, moving costs, and key money for an apartment.

On the right you will see 6 giving options.  With each option we would like to offer a gift from SIBC.  The gifts include Pastor Dan's first book "A Masterpiece in the Making" (released in 2017), a worship album by Kerey Smith and some of the members of the SIBC worship team, an audiobook version of "A Masterpiece in the Making", and a pre-order of Pastor Dan's next book "Where is the God of Elijah: Overcoming Spiritual Drought in Our Lives and Churches".  If you've enjoyed Pastor Dan's teaching in the past, you can definitely hear his voice as you read.  The worship album includes some SIBC favourites as well as some original songs by Kerey.
